At Benefit Counseling Associates we are dedicated to the small businesses we work with and consider ourselves part of their workforce. We are a small business like them and know the difficulties of trying to do it all.
We work with the business owner to ascertain the small business health options plan design and price point that works best for them and their employees, but that’s only the beginning. We do not walk away after the sale, we are there working with that business to keep them on top of the ever changing laws and how they impact their business and employees (i.e. “Obamacare”), helping them through any billing or claims issues and starting all over with shopping when it is time to renew.
We are there to provide support when needed and act as your “human resource department” so you, the business owner, are free to do the business of running your business. If coverage is purchased through us, our services come at no additional charge and are “value added”. If for some reason you must do business elsewhere, we can act as an outside consultant and guide you through the process.
With the advent of New York’s Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) we will be your GPS through the Exchange helping to determine which plans are best suited for you and your employees, enrolling and determining your eligibility for the Small Business Health Care Tax Credit. We help to calculate the number of “Full Time Equivalent” employees and whether the business might suffer “Cadillac Tax” liability.
