The concern of providing your family health coverage can be scary, daunting and downright confusing. The forms and the questions that are asked are sometimes overwhelming.
We can help with Family Health Coverage.
If your employer has provided you with several coverage options and you are not sure which plan will work best, we will review your family situation and the plans from which you may chose and help you to determine the optimum coverage to fit your needs.
Should your employer not supply benefits we can help you to determine if you and/or your children are eligible for “Health Plus” programs offered by New York State and at what level or cost.
Most children qualify for Child Health Plus at very small or no cost to the parents, covering medical, dental and vision expenses with no copay. The paperwork, however, stops some parents from pursuing this excellent coverage. This is where we come in.
The New York State Individual Marketplace (“Exchange”) will be available for open enrollment beginning October 1, 2013 with an effective date of coverage of January 1, 2014. If one misses open enrollment they will not be eligible to enroll until the next open enrollment period or if a “Qualifying Life Event” occurs (i.e. birth, death, marriage, divorce, or loss of prior coverage). The hurdles for purchasing individual coverage will be lowered. There will still be many choices to make and the paperwork to be completed very complex (as of this date the application is 26 pages).
